Flip That Lesson:
Students watch video's of their own performance along with a high school performance of the same piece of music. Video's are assigned through Google Classroom and students watch either at home or in class.
No Lit Circle Here MUSIC CIRCLE:
After watching the video of two performances students sit in a circle and talk about the performances. They compare the two, noting the similarities and differences. Students are able to discern what they are doing well and what they need to improve upon before the upcoming public performance. The best part of this activity is students taking ownership of their learning. Collaborating together, the students were able to make modifications to their performance to enhance the overall look and sound.
It was so much fun watching and listening to students take ownership of their own learning today. It was one of those true guide on the side kind of days.
